I never believed in the power of gemstones. To me, they were just beautiful stones with vibrant colors. As a jewelry designer, I worked with them every day, but their metaphysical side felt far-fetched—until one experience changed everything.

I once wore a gemstone that didn’t align with my energy, and my health began to deteriorate for over a month. I suffered a lot. And one fine evening, I just thought, why am I wearing this stone? And that was it, I intuitively removed the ring, and within an hour, I felt completely fine. It was nothing short of a miracle.

This event suddenly built my trust and belief in the power of gemstones.That moment made me realize: if a gemstone not meant for you can harm, imagine the transformation one meant for you can bring.

Chakra and Crystals

From that moment, I began my research and discovered the body’s energy centers, known as chakras which are closely associated with these gemstones in terms of energy and vibration. ,I learned how every crystal carries its own unique vibration, and how these vibrations interact with our chakras. When the right crystal aligns with the right chakra, it creates balance, harmony, and openness—inviting healing, growth, and new opportunities into life.

In this article, I’ll walk you through the basics of each chakra, the crystals that resonate with it, and how they work together to restore balance. Let’s begin with the very first energy center—the Root Chakra.

Muladhar (Root Chakra)

The Root Chakra, or Muladhara, is the foundation of your being. It governs your sense of safety, security, stability, and grounding—the feeling of being anchored in the physical world. Its element is Earth, representing all things material and practical: survival, health, home, and finances.

When out of balance: you may feel anxious, unsafe, restless, or disconnected from your body.
When balanced: you feel secure, confident, grounded, and full of life force.

The Root Chakra’s color is red, symbolizing vitality and strength.

Black Tourmaline – Grounds energy and offers protection
Smoky Quartz – Releases fear and negativity

Svadhisthan (Sacral Chakra)

Once you feel safe and grounded in your body, the next step is creation—and that is what the Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana) represents. Located just below the navel, it is the center of sensuality, emotions, creativity, and feminine energy. Its element is Water, symbolizing flow, adaptability, and emotional depth.

When balanced: you feel creative, inspired, emotionally open, and comfortable in your sexuality.
When out of balance: you may experience creative blocks, lack of motivation, mood swings, or insecurity in expressing your desires.

The Sacral Chakra’s color is orange, representing vitality, passion, and joy.

Carnelian – Boosts creativity, passion, and motivation
Moonstone – Balances feminine energy and emotional flow
Amber – Inspires vitality and dissolves negative patterns

Manipur (Solar Plexus Chakra)

Every creation needs confidence to thrive, and that’s where the Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) comes in. Located in the upper abdomen, it is the center of personal power, self-confidence, willpower, and action. Its element is Fire, symbolizing transformation, drive, and vitality. This chakra radiates strong masculine energy, pushing you to take charge of your life.

When balanced: you feel confident, motivated, decisive, and ready to take inspired action.
When out of balance: you may struggle with low self-esteem, procrastination, lack of direction, or even digestive issues.

The Solar Plexus Chakra’s color is yellow, representing energy, clarity, and empowerment.

Anahat (Heart Chakra)

Confidence, will, and self-esteem all fuel the deepest energy of all—love. The Heart Chakra (Anahata) is the center of love, compassion, connection, and self-acceptance. Located at the center of the chest, it bridges the lower physical chakras with the higher spiritual chakras. Its element is Air, representing freedom, openness, and flow.

When balanced: you feel loving, compassionate, kind, and deeply connected—to yourself, to others, and to the world around you.
When out of balance: you may struggle in relationships, feel emotionally blocked, become overly clingy, or swing to the other extreme—emotionally unavailable and closed off.

The Heart Chakra’s primary color is green, symbolizing growth and healing, though it is also sometimes represented by pink, reflecting unconditional love.

Vishuddhi (Throat Chakra)

When you are deeply connected with yourself and your soul, the next step is to express your truth—and that is the purpose of the Throat Chakra (Vishuddha). Located in the throat, this chakra is the center of communication, self-expression, and inner wisdom.

The element associated with Vishuddhi is Ether (space/Sound) that fuels your ability to speak your truth with clarity, confidence, and authenticity.

When balanced: you express yourself freely, your words flow with confidence, and you feel aligned with your inner wisdom. Your voice carries strength and calm, and you are able to speak and listen with compassion.
When out of balance: you may fear public speaking, struggle to express your thoughts, feel disconnected from your inner truth, or become submissive to the opinions and narratives of others.

The primary color of the Throat Chakra is blue, symbolizing clarity, honesty, and expression.

Turquoise – Enhances communication and emotional balance
Lapis Lazuli – Encourages truth and deep inner wisdom
Aquamarine – Brings calm confidence in speaking truth
Larimar – Promotes serenity and authentic self-expression

Ajna (Third Eye Chakra)

Connection with your inner self is one side of the coin—connection with your higher self and the divine spirit is the other. That’s where the Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) comes into play. Located between the eyebrows, it is the seat of intuition, wisdom, insight, and spiritual awareness. It allows you to access your inner guidance and see beyond the physical realm.

When balanced: you feel intuitively empowered, make decisions with clarity, and combine logic with intuition. You experience mental calmness, a deeper sense of trust in life, and alignment with your higher wisdom.
When out of balance: your thoughts feel foggy, you may struggle with overthinking or lack of focus, disconnect from intuition, or face mental distress.

The Third Eye Chakra’s color is indigo, symbolizing deep perception and inner vision. Its element is Light, representing illumination, clarity, and awareness.

When balanced: you feel deeply connected to the divine, guided by universal wisdom, and at peace with yourself and the world. A sense of clarity, bliss, and expanded consciousness flows through you.
When out of balance: you may feel disconnected from spirit, spiritually lost, over-intellectual, or trapped in constant overthinking.

The Crown Chakra’s color is white or violet, symbolizing purity, transcendence, and infinite light. Its element is Thought / Cosmic Energy, representing consciousness beyond the physical world.

Clear Quartz – Amplifies energy and connects to higher consciousness
Selenite – Cleanses the aura and enhances divine connection
Moonstone – Awakens spiritual insight and intuition
Amethyst – Deepens meditation and spiritual awareness
